Default help; 19's or 20's?

Just picked up a 2006 Cayenne S Titanium. It has the stock titanium 18" wheels. To modernize, looking to pick up affordable option to fill wheel well. Thinking black spoked or gunmetal. Any thoughts on size?
Thanks.

With the potholes in Philly I would stick with 18s.

Dont get cheap aftermarket. The cayenne is too heavy and cheap wheels, especially chinese ones have a tendency to deform and become unbalancable. Had this happen with winter rims on my 05 CTT and 22" rims that came with my 06 CTTS. I got a set of 19" for winter and 20" sport technos for summer. Both genuine porsche from ebay.

stick with 18s. If you want to "fill" the wheel well then you can put 31.6 inch tall tires (265/65/18)

^This. Once you go with a higher sidewall, you'll never go back.

If you go with the factory tire sizes, 19" or 20" wheels won't 'fill the wheelwells' any more than the 18s. The bigger wheels just have shorter sidewalls. Overall height is the same.

I run 18s with Blizzaks in the winter, 20s with all seasons in the summer.

I prefer the look of the 20s, but it's not all that big of a difference. Ride suffers some, but not a lot. The difference between 'sport' and 'comfort' on the shock setting is more.

I like the look of the 20" sport techno. Very happy with mine. As others mentioned, don't go cheap reproductions.

Default Good stuff

Thanks to several of you for the replies. I’ll keep your advice and go for a higher aspect ratio rather than rim. I like the idea of the 18 inch with 265/65. Was also possibly thinking 255/50/19. However, I want to keep a good feel on the ride.
Also, Pillow, Thanks for the advice. Some of the streets are slalom course but I tend to avoid those.

I've been shopping for 19" or 20" rims for a set of summer tires.
Good comments/advice above, however I was wondering, other than possible speedometer error, is there any reason you have to go with lower profile tires with the bigger rims?
Can you not "fill the space" with the 19" or 20" rims, and taller tires?

You can. Some are running 275/45 x20 for a little more sidewall. Several threads on it
