Angry Wait a min.! My Cayenne's rotors are warped (Not worn)?

(Updated original post to my misunderstanding of (warped to worn)
I just got a word from my service advisor. My Cayenne, 2442 miles, has warped (not worn) rotors which might be the major cause for steering wheel shimmy. Not again , my Allroad had the simular break issue over and over, please not my C-S this time. Anyone has same rotor warp (not worn) issue at this low milage. BTW, it took 3 dealers, 3 sets of rotors, 1.5 new sets of tires and 1 set of rear axial to cure my Allroad. Another thing, both my C-S and Allroad were dealer trade from the same dealership. Something is going on...

I'm close to 10,500 and have no rotor issues.

Except for PCCB wear issues, I have not heard of iron rotors with early wear. Sounds fishy...

Sorry for the probably stupid question but how can you tell that the rotors are worn?

I have 19000 miles and no "steering wheel shimmy".

Matt, I do not know. I repeated "Worn Rotors!" 2 times when my Porsche service advisor told me that. I just told that I heard it wrong "worn" Should be "Warped".

Today morning I’ve brought my CayenneS to service workshop due to steering wheel shimmy during braking (50-80 km/h). Just had funny conversation with service advisor – he told me that brake rotors are twisted probably due to not enough cooling interval after hard braking and warranty doesn’t cover such situation. I’m very pissed of:

1. I’m driving having every tip from owner’s manual in mind
(I’m still during brake-in period)
2. It’s winter here - snow and cold weather = I guess better cooling
3. I bought sport cars isn’t it?
4. How should I drive this car during hot summer?

BTW. When I’ve asked above questions he told me that he will contact me soon with final words.

WHAT? You have “worn rotors” after 2500 miles? How is that possible? I can see the possibility of “warped rotors” but not “worn”. And warped rotors are usually detected upon braking, like madman, not when you are just driving along. Unless, they are severely warped which I’m guessing yours are not.
If you have worn rotors in 2500 miles then you must have the most abrasive brake lining know to mankind on your vehicle. And the rest of us have something different. Or, you somehow keep getting hollow castings and that’s just not possible.
Also, you should be able to measure the thickness of the rotors yourself. Just get a set of calipers and check them. Frankly, I think your dealer is lying. I’d get another opinion.
I have a terrible shimmy/vibration too. I was just told my tires are out on round. Meaning, they have permanent flat spots. We’ll see if that is the culprit to my problems. Unfortunately, I don’t have the greatest amount of confidence in my dealer at this point either.

There were no vibration on steering wheel when I break which usually caused by warped rotors. However, I did feel that the break was not as sharp as the car had 300 miles on it. Maybe it did worn! Do I use break differently than any others? I do not have any break problem with my BMW and 996 C4s. Well, let see what happen when I get my car back. If the steering wheel shimmy still exist at HWY speed. I will try another dealer.

Well, I just got off the phone with my advisor (They do check the forum). My rotors are "warped" not "worn". So, that was my misunderstanding. Sorry about that.

Unless you had it on a racetrack, they shouldn't be warped already. These things have big brakes and as far as I know the S brakes are the same as the 450hp TT's brakes other than the caliper color. You would have to work them really hard.

On a vehicle that new, I would think that a decent dealer would simply replace the rotors without question. If it happens again, a serious look needs to be taken at the calipers for possible sticking. If you brought it back every 2500 miles with warped rotors and the calipers were fine, then I think they should have you pay, but not until they can PROVE that it is your driving style.

I would also say that it is more likely tires. Lots of guys here have had tire issues, nobody else had had brake issues. Sounds like a mis-diagnosis to me. Hopefully they are working with you on it.

I tend to agree, this sounds very odd.

There are enough Cayennes on the road now to know if this was a generic problem, this may of course be a one off but........

I guess the obvious question would when they were both built to see if there is any correlation.

Is the following possible:
unbalanced wheels and tires -> vibration and shimmy at HWY speed -> break at HWY speed -> warp rotors
