Default Audio upgrade - Advice?

I have a 2008 Cayenne S. I just upgraded the head unit to a Pioneer z5050bt unit with Google Now so I have maps and spotify but now I want better sound. Looking at an amp and speakers and possible sub also. I believe the Cayenne has many different speaker setups, mine seems to have two in each door, but I don't know the size. What are the recommended upgrades here?

Is there anything specific I need to know about with these cars? My local place has a big catalogue of options and I don't know where to start. Mostly pioneer, jbl and kenwood. I just want an amp, decent speakers and maybe a sub - possible under the seat or in with the spare wheel to keep it neat.

Has anyone done this? Anything I need to know?

I'm going to bump this and I will add in any info I get as I go if it's useful to others - I'm currently getting some quotes from some local car audio places so I'll let you know how it goes.

Just wondering does anyone know the speaker sizes int he doors? I think I only have the basic system. 2 Speakers per door.

I'm going to get new speakers, an amp, and a powered sub that fits under the driver's seat. I hear these things are pretty good at giving you some decent bass without taking up valuable space.

I'm working on quotes for the same. I have the updated head unit and sub done, which makes the system acceptable but I'm thinking about an amp or two and replacing all the speakers. Got a bunch of them. We still don't know what the heck is in the rear pillars, couple mounted there as well. When I have sizes and quotes I'll post. Might be a while though.

Nice one man yeah let us know. So I'm getting mine done next weekend. Focal speakers, amp and Sub - good quality stuff so I'm really excited. The guy may do a stealth install in the spare wheel well - however not sure may just do a box in the boot. I'll keep you posted.

Re the size, threads linked above say 6.5" - but then I found this that says 8" - does anyone know for sure?

OK so I got the install done this weekend! I'm absolutely delighted - it sounds fantastic. It's not 100% finished as I still have some carpet etc to do but its in and it sounds fantastic.

Sorry for the crappy photos but I took them in a hurry in the dark, I'll take better ones later when its finished:

Specs are as follows:

Pioneer Z505BT Head Unit with Android Auto - installed a few months ago.
Focal IS200 - 8" front component speakers
Focal IS170 - 6.5" rear component speakers
Focal FPP5300 - 5 Channel amp 4x80w + 1x240w
Focal 27v1 11" subwoofer - 250w
Kenwood Rear camera upgrade

Focal are a very high quality french car audio brand so I'm really happy I was able to get such good gear at a good price. Speakers needed some fabrication to mount properly but nothing too complex.

The main question was where I put my sub as I did not want a huge box taking up space in the boot. So we opted to ditch the spare and mount it in there. The spare seems to be pretty weird anyway as its not inflated - but I have good breakdown should the need arise. My friend built a custom box and replaced the floor of the trunk so its all incorporated. The Amp was mounted under the box. It all fits pretty neatly and sounds incredible. The sub is actually an 11" which is an unsual size but it packs a punch has plenty of low bass. Sounds like a nightclub basically. I'm really happy.

I still have to figure out the carpet. We could not find a matching colour to the Porsche brown so went with black. What I may do is recover the pieces at the side and have it all black at the bottom which will look slightly better.

Oh I also upgraded the reversing camera as mine was rubbish - so much better now with a super wide view.

Hope this helps for anyone who was thinking of doing the same - let me know any questions!

I bet that cost half of what the vehicle is worth. At least you will able to drown out the slap.

That looks great!

As for the spare - it is inflated with the on board compressor that is also used for the air suspension.

Cost me $1,350 which is an absolute bargain as the parts were basically old stock my friend had. He spent 2 days on the install but only made a few hundred out of it so I'm very lucky.
