Default I simply must have the side marker light become turn signals.

I have posted this before but it feel it is a major safety hazzard.

How can I get my side marker lights in the front wheel well to be turn signals as Porsche advertises?

Both the sales literature and the website state that these are supposed to be turn signals. I think that only applies to European models.

Hi David, Is that true? I know on 993 they are not turn signals. I remembered to see the mod on 993 sometimes ago. I do not know if that will help. I will try to find it for you tonight.

Default I too would like my front-side markers...

...to blink. Maybe I'll rewire mine and make some notes/pics.

I bet that they are programmable via the PST2 system.

PST2 is the computer porsche uses to program functions and read computer data to and from late model porsches.

Mav,

Great link. I will plan that mod for my 911 now.

Now If we could figure out how to do this on a Cayenne, I would do it asap.

I shipped a US model TT to Spain in July last year. All EU states require there to be side indicator lamps. The Porsche dealer made the mod for me the first day after I imorted the car, and did not charge for it!!! Guess I got a great deal! From what he said, I'm sure it was a minor re-wire job (from front indicators) and not just a simple re-programming!

Peter,

Thanks for the information. I will be attempting the rewire tomorrow. I have enough info and it seems like an easy job to do. I'll also be performing it on my 996.

Periokid.....that is a really worthwhile project. Before I bought my TT I thought they were to operate as turn signal markers.....just like they have done on so many other European cars I've owned.

I just finished doing that to mine. It's fairly easy albeit time-consuming IMO. I took some pics and will post in my Webshots site.

Default Those pics and instructions are...

...now here .

The new turn indicators are not very bright in the daytime but are quite visible at nite. Was worth the time.
