I have zero previous experience with x431. It'll be interesting.

I thought the X431 was terrible....

It does do great at scanning, and service reset items. It is great in that regard.

The bad is the customer service. It's basically non existent, so once something goes wrong it's really hard to get it corrected with help from the manufacturer.

And the automatic updates. They seem like they would be helpful. But my last update put the whole thing into Chinese. It's all Chinese symbols and then just the numbers. So for me it became unreadable. I tried all methods of contact for help. I could not reload it as it stopped recognizing my unit although I had one year left on my agreement. So now it's a paperweight.

Just be careful with it. Or updates.

I have an Icarcscan, and have used it for many things, but one I have not yet is for logged misfires, is it possible, and where do I find them?
I have a surging issue under full throttle, I replaced coils and plugs, and my valve cover gaskets, not codes at all, but I have read some misfires dont produce codes, so I want to check misfires.
Do I need a PIWIS or Durametric to do this?
Thanks

Durametric can do this and is reasonably priced. I have a PIWIS also but the cost i am not sure it is worth it.

Can those you have the Foxwell NT520 Pro comment, can you check:

- fuel trims
- logged misfires?

I have an Icarscan and it cant do either of these, which seem to be important for diagnosing issues!
Thanks
