You can adjust the mileage yourself with a simple mileage adjuster tool/obd scanner available on eBay. I have done two of my Cayennes.

Will iCarScan do it as well? Can mileage be adjusted either forward or backward, or forward only?

Re-opning an older thread. I did this swap, and love it. The issue is I still have a couple warning lights (headllight adjustment and TPMS). I am going to trade my Cayenne in and need to clear these. I just talked to my local Porsche dealer, and they flat out said they wouldnt do it.

So, two questions, can I get semi detailed instructions on what needs to be down for someone with PIWIS, and does anyone know of a shop in the Indianapolis Area that will do this?

Thanks

I can answer the first question. Use the PIWIS to code your VIN into the new cluster and then do a vehicle "handover".

I replied in another thread about this cluster swap. Is this odometer reset took a generic tool for different vehicles or is it specific to the cayennes? I’m looking for this tool as the turbo cluster I bought has 155k miles on it and my GTS has 128k miles.

Seems the ultimate option, there seem to be a company offering just the install of the wide turbo center display into your existing GTS cluster getting rid of the amber. No need to deal with the mileage and potentially all the other features. I might definitely look into this, but for me one more potential issues, I have 6 speed manual, wondering what to expect with all turbo model have automatic. I contacted the seller, I will report back.

Did you ever end up giving that guy on eBay a try? Your post is over 2 years old but it looks like he's still offering that service. If it is what it appears to be - this guy replaces the screen in your existing cluster with the color turbo screen - then I'd agree with you that this is the superior option (compared to all the f'ing around with recoding your VIN and such).

It's not what it appears to be. It's impossible to replace the monochrome display for a full-color one. The only option is to fit an entire Turbo cluster. The recoding is not difficult. Use a mileage adjuster tool to write the correct mileage to the new cluster, find someone with a PIWIS to write your car's VIN to the new cluster, then do a "handover".

Sorry for jumping on an old thread; I swapped my gts cluster for a same-year turbo cluster. And can’t seem to get rid of the tpms warning or even get it to recognize the tpms. Any suggestions you may have would be greatly appreciated

Find someone with a PIWIS to write your car's VIN to the new cluster, then do a "handover", which will sync the new cluster with your car and its exact set of options.

Try calling the Porsche independent shops in your area. They should have the PIWIS software and will (most likely) be cheaper than a dealer.

hey thank you for the suggestion, do you know anything about these piwis clones. I found some online for the Piwis 2 I’m wondering if it’s worth me buying it and just doing it my self

I don't know about them personally, but someone else may chime in.
