Just a quick update on what I'm looking at.

https://www.porschetysonscorner.com/...-18037969.html
2010 GTS Auto. Local with good options and cool color. Auto... Yeah I know breaking my own rule.
I may get to go over and check it out Friday afternoon.
... Bribed wife with Korean food in close by Annandale, but not sure when we can actually get over there together.

http://www.intlcarcenter.com/vehicle...il-id-26140440
2008 V6 Manual. Right upgraded options like Air Ride, Bose, Tow package.
Really sketchy CarFax in the last year. Last owner for 5 months probably means a maintenance item was too expensive to deal with and dumped the car. Now sitting on used car lot for what appears to be 8 months+.
Ohio car, which could mean a nasty undercarriage. Boring color combo of silver/grey.
Logistical issue of the car being in Chicago while I'm in NoVA.

For the money, just not sure why you'd buy a Base. Tiny wheels, underpowered for the weight, etc.

Those lug bolts would be a pretty good indication of what the rest of the fasteners will be like to deal with on this one from its life in a Northern climate. On the plus side, it does look like they cleaned it up nicely.

Is that an OEM base radio or aftermarket. If aftermarket, you'll lose any advantage of the Bose speakers with a Bose head unit as Bose speakers by themselves aren't great unless frequency matched to the deck and amp they were designed to be paired with - small magnets, muddy sound, etc. I replaced all the Bose speakers in my 997 with Focals and kept the stock PCM and amp (because of the fiber optic connection between them) and the sound is much improved.

Sharper eye than me Petza! Good call on the lugnuts.

Very good call as well The Bose systems we have had on the Cadillacs were not that impressive (better than stock, but not great), depending on what you are used to of course. I imagine most people don't care as they are not audiophiles.

This link isn't working and I don't see a 2010 Cayenne on their site anymore. Wonder if they sold it yesterday...

You wanted a stick shift GTS anyway

Dang! Yup the GTS and S that were there are gone. I should have called yesterday! LOL

This may turn into the longest WTB thread ever. (I hope not) No rush, when the right one comes along it will feel right. Believe in abundance.

Took me 3 or 4 months to find a GTS that I liked. They're a lot more rare than an S or base, can take a while.

FYI-
The dealer, Vorderman VW, is selling the 08 GTS for a private individual. I offered $24k after many email discussions, calls, and lots of research on value, and they said they would take $25k.

I found an 09 GTS w/MT, with fewer miles, 1 owner, for the same price.

Exactly what Petza914 said completely. For a large vehicle, the PDCC is amazing.

Agreed on the Ashburn GTS. Nice, but not really for the price. I think that one will sit for a long time due to the mileage pushing it out of collector car range. Also you can get a nice Gen 3 GTS for that money.

Especially being a Michigan car... I def think the owner is going to have to come down in price. I got the same 25k offer out of them as well. Frankly, the owner should have taken your 24k!

Was that the one that blipped up in San Fran for one day?

I went and drove a Gen 3 2011 Cayenne S Thursday after work. Nice... But not as nice as the Gen 2 IMO. Sure the center console is fancy... But it is all HVAC buttons!!! Really, why so many buttons? Also the 8 speed auto makes it feel like you are going fast, but you aren't. The suspension options for Comfort - Normal - Sport I could not tell the difference between, which is a comment I have heard before on the Gen3s. I was pleased to get back in the DTS and carry on down the road in comfort and minimal efficient HVAC controls - Auto climate on 72 set it and forget about it. Overall a good experience in knowing what you don't want

User Nelak in Canada is thinking about selling his Cayenne Turbo to finance a 928 project he's just begun. Maybe send him a PM to see what his asking price will be. You might be able to snag it before it goes on the market.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the help in research and locating a Cayenne!

We did find a 2010 Cayenne S that fit the bill... Auto, but I gave up on the MT due to impossibility to find.

It is sad sad sad to see some of the destroyed Cayennes out there... And we were only looking at the 2009-2010 range! Inaccurate photos and shady descriptions for trashed cars gets exhausting! It is not Excellent unless it is Excellent!

Anyway here is what we are picking up in the next day or two: https://www.mackmotors.net/inventory/details/48378183
* Mack has been great. A real car guy that hand selects the vehicles which are clean and ready for action. No drama and no BS. Refreshing experience compared to most of the shady AF used car lots.

2010 Cayenne S White / Tan 89k fairly loaded up and with the wood package. The tan interior with the wood just looks money to me. Drives like new!

Only a few items that need addressed:
- One wheel has a nick
- Rear vent louver is broken (hopefully I can find a new vent and not too much trouble to replace)
- One key... Yeah that is annoying and expensive little bit

To Do:
- Roof crossbars and rack for junk
- 2nd set of wheels/tires one AT/winter and one HT
- Add a factory Tow Hitch with 7 pin for a Prodigy brake controller for our 1948 30' Spartan Mansion travel trailer.

Now the fun begins!

Thank You!
