New user with new to me 2004 CS
Hello to all,
New user, first time poster and first time Porsche owner here.
First of all I must say I had this word file where I wanted to compile all the info I would put in this first post but that quickly became huge - you guys know you can't use two lines to tell what any Cayenne went through - so I've binned that file and I'll make it shorter.
So back in March I bought a 2004 white Cayenne S which needed a few things to be fixed. Luckily this same guy had another 2004 black Cayenne S with no plates and the deal included the benefit of taking anything I would need from it, like a light sensor and auto-lights switch among others
There are some things still pending but the car runs fine so far and I really like it.
But the one reason I am starting the thread for is to thank every one of the users here that share their knowledge and allowed me to make sure I was getting a good car and will allow me also to keep it running properly.
Unfortunately I have no knowledge to share yet but I hope I will eventually as I go through whatever the car brings up, because it is going to happen of course.
Now let me try to add a couple of pictures:
Greetings

I'd like to add some update on what had to be done when I got the car:
And because I know all that text is boring here are some pictures of her:
- New battery, as the car had been sitting for a few months and it was dead.
- Front Air suspension struts replaced: Both had the upper bushing and seal damaged and the local shop said no one is servicing them here in Qatar so I had to go for cheap aftermarkets: OEMs here are overpriced on top of the usual dealer high prices.
- Front right air suspension sensor from donor CS
- Front CV axles taken from the donor CS
- New front upper and lower control arms both sides.
- 20" inch wheels and tires set from donor CS mainly because the tires were new.
- Valve cover and spark plugs gaskets replaced. Coils and plugs inspected also.
- AOS diaphragm and crankcase vent line from donor CS
- Coolant reservoir from donor CS
- Known vacuum line at the firewall was repaired
- Hood shock from donor CS
- Rear hatch shocks
- Rain and light sensor plus Auto-headlights switch from donor CS
- Headlights wiring repaired, headlights polished and cleaned inside.
- Seat back covers refitted
- Many interior items cleaned/painted/repaired
- Check the coils and sparks myself because the idle is a bit rough.
- Engine torque strut to be replaced due to the vibration coming to a stop. Engine mounts will follow if I take the car back to Spain.
- Many fluids need servicing
- Fuel vapor canister purge valve ticks from time to time - needs replacement. Maybe this adds to the idle roughness also.
And because I know all that text is boring here are some pictures of her:

Welcome to the group. You have a fine looking car and seem to have done a lot of the work needed to sort out the glitches. I bought an 04CS in the summer of '16 and began a series of blog entries on the experience of working on "Ruby". I think there are about 35 entries to date, the most recent a list of emergency tools to carry in order to change an ignition coil on the road.
