If so how? Where are the filters?
Thanks.
The filters are behind the black cover. Just remove the screw in the middle. The filters are foam that deteriorates and will end up in the fan blades breaking them. Get rid of it.

Concur, get rid of the foam. I've replaced both my pumps using a doorman replacement pump from a Camaro. Identical. $100 each. Name: photo206.jpg

Well that only took about 5 mins. No need to remove pumps. Just the beauty cover and one torx 20.

My drivers side pump has failed as well. Foam and plastic is jammed in the hose too so I will be pulling the valve to clean it out as well like @cfiiman . I opened the passenger side pump and someone already removed the foam (or it dicinegrated over time?...) and it looks to be in good shape but at 15 years and 112,000 miles old I will replace them both. I am going to try these SKP aftermarket, exact fit pumps from amazon. They are about the same price as the Dorman ones but they come complete and include the correct plug with no adapter needed. Both pumps will cost a little less than one OEM pump. Not bad if they are good pumps. If not, it is Amazon so I can send them back. I will keep you posted.
