Drifting
Because I like the way Esters molecular bonding to metals, is hard to ignite and fully conditions the Viton seals. The Motul 300V top-ups is slightly thicker, rejuvenating any sheared 8100 x-cess and allows me to extend my OCI to 15,000 miles. My Blackstone UOAs always come back stellar, using this method. Thanks, Jimi!

Yup, same experience here on the UOA for both my 997s. Anything beyond 5,000 miles, the oil becomes more acidic (TAN still higher than TBN), the viscosity gets lower, as does the flashpoint, and most importantly, the Zinc and Phosphorous levels that protect the valve train start dropping below 1,000 ppm. Based on the 20 or so UOAs I've run, I won't run any oil, even synthetics, beyond a 5,000 mile change interval. On my supercharged RUF car, I run 4,000 mile intervals because the #s in the UOA degrade quicker after 4,000 than they do on my wife's regular 997 C2S, which remain fine up to 5,000 miles. All my vehicles that require 5W/40 weight oil get JGR Driven DT40 which has higher Zinc & Phosphorous levels and can maintain protection even up to 300 F. If I worried about using a Porsche A40 Approved oil, I'd use Motul xcess 8100 before the M1. For my older Porsches that need a thicker oil (modded 914 & supercharged 928), I use DT50 (15W/50).
