another bose thread
have been thinking about replacing radio on 05 s with double din receiver and no amp.
just replace door and dash speakers. pioneer avh-290bt would be my choice and maybe skar speakers

If you have Bose, you’ll need to buy a MOST interface box in order to use an aftermarket head unit. NavTV makes one that many have used.
No need to change speakers unless they are blown.
It’s not less expensive than replacing headunit and amp. The most cost effective way to update is to install an android unit. Check the Dynavin threads on that.
I went with a Pioneer CarPlay install. Rewired in a new amp to existing Bose speakers. Sounds plenty good.
