Considering adding the Sports Plus option / button Fromm the Tequipment catalog to our 2014 Cayenne Platinum.
From folks who have it or added it, what are the real (seat of the pants) gains and experience when activated?
Basicaally, is it worth the $980+labor to install?

I have not seen any discussion about the Tequipment Cayenne sport plus here on Cayenne rennlist.
Since the mfg. does not specify the the actual performance gains I would not consider it.

If it is supposed to be equivalent to the Porsche sport mode your Cayenne should have air suspension and sport exhaust for a noticeable improvement.

Dyno tests have demonstrated that P sport mode does not increase HP, just changes throttle response.

If the $$ is burning a hole in your pocket have it installed and report back to this tread.

Was it even an option with the engine model in the Platinum?

What it takes to add it is relatively trivial. Just replace the button assembly in the console, replace the clock with a sport chrono clock and have the dealer activate the features. The whole button panel has to be replaced, not just individual switch locations. The clock/chrono swap should work with the existing wiring. If there's no existing clock then it'd come with a fascia panel (to match the interior color) and some wiring. Pulling all the various panels out is not difficult but you do need to know all the pressure/release points for all of them BEFORE you start. Else you'll end up breaking/marring them.

What you get are some additional changes to throttle response (beyond Sport mode) and launch control and a different-looking clock. I don't think it does anything specific, HP-wise.

Right, Sport+ does not add any power. It just changes throttle response, idle and makes the transmission shifts quicker.

But you're saying you took a button panel that had Sport+ and put it into a vehicle that didn't have the option pre-programmed and it worked? Does Launch Control also work?

The hard part of getting a replacement button panel is finding one that has all of your existing options too. Like LCA, PSE, Auto Stop/Start, etc.

Launch control need change vehicle info with QR5 sport chrono package,then coding the car,no active code needed in 958.2.
