Default ATF low alert warning

Does the Cayenne (2006 S in my case) give out a warning when the Auto Transmission Fluid gets low?

I would hope so, as could potentially wreck your gear box, but I couldn't see mention of it in the manual

No, and yes it could. But the only way the fluid gets low is if it leaks and that's usually rather obvious.

Transfer case has a vent, I believe...but transmission is completely sealed.

There's no warning light. But if the ATF gets low enough it will be slow to shift and may cause certain gears to freewheel, and then grab, which is pretty disconcerting.
