Default When life gives you lemons....just get a 2006 CTTS

So less than a month ago my 2003 CTT (launch vehicle) was totaled when I was hit by another vehicle. I was very happy with my Cayenne so I started looking for a replacement vehicle on the webs. I considered getting a newer model but wasn't really prepared to spend THAT MUCH money to replace. I located several vehicles one of which was a 2006 CTTS just a short drive south (Portland) of where I live here in Gig Harbor. The vehicle had about 44k miles, three prior owners and no reported issues on the Carfax. I had a PPI done and the vehicle checked out very well. Having owned and been through essentially all issues at least once I knew what to investigate. After a bit of negotiation I struck a deal with the salesman. I took an Amtrak train down to Portland early Sunday morning and picked up my new pepper. I must say the drive back home was a lot of fun. The 70hp gain is more impressive than what I was expecting. The vehicle feels more nimble and responsive than my 2003 CTT. With 90k fewer miles I anticipate driving this vehicle for many years to come. On a side note I was able to salvage my Cargraphic muffler (thank-you again Kooser), SR7 laser shifter, Dynavin N-6 radio/nav unit among other smaller items. I have some more boxes to check off before I am done with the vehicle but feel comfortable posting up a couple of photos.

Nice find. There's a sweet example in Jarama Beige not far from me I'm trying to talk the wife into, only 77k miles. I'd love to be caring for his and hers 955 TTS's.

Default Congrats from another Washingtonian

Looks good, a lot like mine. I'm just across the bridge, down in Eatonville off Hwy7. Have to do Cars & Coffee sometime and Griots.

Nice find!, Beautiful CTTS. My next one needs to be a CTTS. Right now I am in a CTT.

Very nice - congrats. It really seems the 958s don't depreciate nearly as badly as the 955/957's. Looked at a 2011 Turbo for about 40K (original msrp of 140K) vs. my CTT was 8K (original MSRP 100K). Obviously 5 years difference and miles, but I would say both were a decently good deal.

Congrats! Looks like a great find. Finding a great CTTS is no easy feat here in the Northwest. Now you need to get a tune from Scott at Softronic when the tunes go on sale after thanksgiving! Best $ I've ever spent on either of my Cayennes.

Cheers,
TomF

Super low miles! Have all the weak spots been addressed? That was actually one of the reasons I went after mine, with the mileage it had, all that stuff had already been fixed...

Congrats on the find! Looks like an awesome replacement to me. If you're considering doing some exhaust mods, keep me in mind! I'd love to work with you. -- have fun with the new beast !!!

Very nice...here's mine...

I gotta ask...how much? I bought mine in March of this year, had 135K miles on it (very good condition in spite of the miles); I paid $13,500, thought it was a great deal...you?

Looks really nice. If the coolant pipes and Ts have not been done do them right away. I got mine with 48000 and the original pipes and Ts. I saw it as a plus as I know the engine had not been drenched in coolant. I also baselined all the fluids including the brake fluid.

Sounds great! I was not aware that Griot's did Caffeine & Gasoline on the first Saturday of each month. I will be away at the Pumpkin Shoot that first weekend in November. I may have to push it out to what looks like the last one this year (December 2nd) until the Spring.

Definitely twins separated at birth. My CTTS was 28.5k out the door. USAA gave me a check for 10.9k for my vehicle (135k on the odometer) so your price of 13.5k would seem to be in line for a vehicle with that mileage and extra horsepower. Congrats!

Coolant pipes are all metal. The vehicle has new brakes and rotors and I mean BRAND NEW. The current tires are going to be trashed when I put on my winter boots (Nokians). I salvaged my sport techno wheels off my original vehicle (replaced with my 18" winter wheels/tires) and will have those wheels sandblasted and powder coated glossy black. I have been debating on whether to paint the grill silver or leave it black. I think leaving the grill black will look better with black wheels.
The items I anticipate dealing with in the next 20k miles (or 2 years): water pump, auxiliary battery replacement and rear hatch struts.
