2004 Cayenne 955 Turbo Upgrade Build Thread, Custom Manifolds, BW EFR 7163's
#168
This tuner is located in California. The code changes to the ecu software and initial programming were performed on a bench there. He also had to do some work to get the logging utility setup so that we can get quality logging. The Durametric logging utility commonly used on Porsche has some issues with not really being fast enough to produce a quality log and what happens is that when you are logging all the channels needed on a pull it overloads the communication and the refresh rate/hz suffers. Me7 logger was developed for Audi but even under a heavy load the software and utility is way better than the Durametric with only one channel running. Revisions will be made from here on out remotely and I will have to flash a new file every time until a pump gas tune is finalized. Same with e85. Things get crazy on the internet which is why I choose not to disclose these details until the timing is right and if he so wishes I will blow him up as much as possible. If I have done my job right and he has we have may have a winner. I think he would deserve and have earned to have every single Canned and Custom Cayenne tune sold to anyone anywhere from there on out. Let's face it, There are hardware limitations to what you can do with a stock Cayenne. All the tunes sold these days are fairly equal in performance and the price ranges from ok to "F*** me, r u serious?" I can promise you that the pricing would be good for the stock'ish guys and highly competitive. As far as how good a tuner he is I think we r about to find out. If he pulls this off I think that's all anybody needs to know to make a decision. Agreed or no?
I could not agree more and am more than ready to support a new a new tuner in our market. The old ***** guys that are still gouging us and putting in no effort to progress the 955/957 platform deserve little business! Please put me on deck for the next CTT tuning project if things go well with him.

I am not the one doing this end of the build so I cant say for sure. He did say that it took some time to make it all work. I would imagine that the technical details of this project wont be freeware for a long time if ever.

Got the Cayenne up and running with a base file that runs very well! Worked out a few bugs with the map switching and a few CANbus errors and started doing some pulls. Major difference already. It's going to be nice to be able to push the CC on and press set to switch maps while I am @ the gas station getting some corn. I wont have to fumble around with a laptop or a client device like the MyGenius. Best of all I wont have to flash to change maps! That takes a huge amount of risk out of going back and forth. CC still works and the map switching is only while stationary.

To switch maps push the CC stalk to on, press the set button. Each time its pressed it go's to either 1k, 2k, or 3k to indicate the map. If you leave it on any of the three presets the tach go's back to zero after 3 sec to indicate the map it is locked in.
Simple.
