Question smooth out 2nd gear ?

986 - '02 base - 53k shifting into 2nd can feel a bit notchy [is that a word ] sticky

sometimes smoother than others , i'm trying to get used to car and this is something I found in most of manual trans - it may be me

It seems better when keeping revs down , I tend to pull out of 1st and wiggle back into 2nd trying to find smooth drop . maybe better going straight back
all other gears are smooth as can be

What rpms do you shift at? You are actually probably shifting too low.

3500-4000... Your car makes zero power down low. The engine isn't designed to run down there. There is zero reason to shift down there.
