What holds them in place ?

- The rear of the humps have 2 tabs [per hump] that seat them onto the body.
- A third tab clips against the roll bar [ just below the wind deflector]
- A small velcro strap is supplied as a mechanical fixing at this location. [I rarely use it]
- Finally there is a lever arm that locks them into place [located where the humps form a point at the rear of each door][same place the hardtop locks in]

They never rattle, although they occasionally squeek !
The earlier version was easy to set-up.
I found this later set does not have the adjustability. Possibly easier to have your OPC do the initial install.

Are your tail lights functional?? They look really nice IMO but I was just curious as to what you used to paint over them. Any info is appreciated.

On my 2.5 boxster we put a light coat of artic silver over them - which worked well.
The indicators were clearly visible.

With this car we laid up the paint a little too heavily.
The reverse lights and indicators are still visible, but not very well in direct sunlight.

My resolution was to wire the indicators into the fog light position.
I now have red indicators

Default 10" rears

Q...first of all...I want your exhaust...or at least a parts list so I can build one for my Boxster!!! That is sweet!
Second...I'm buying a set of 10" OZ wheels and have a couple questions for you. What is the back spacing on your rear wheels? Are they a factory fit (45mm I think) or did you require spacers? Any problems running 285s (rubbing etc)? Is your car lowered?
...and finally...I want you car!!! Great job!!!

I fitted Boxster Tequipment 18*10" The offset is 47mm
They fitted perfectly with the 265 tyres.
When I fitted the 285's, there was only 2-3mm clearance, so I fitted the Porsche 5mm spacers to be safe. ...making the effective offset 42mm

The tyres have only gently kissed the outer guard on 3 or 4 occasions on BIG mid corner bumps - in 6000miles ....so no complaints
....but it is LOW !

The car was lowered 36mm, and then sagged to a drop of 44mm
The negative camber helps the 285's sit under the guards nicely.

As a final note,
fitting the 285's had a greater effect on handling than I expected.
- Understeer was increased DRAMATICALLY.
- The ability to punch the Boxster out of a corner increased substantially.
- Infact, the whole car felt very close to my 993 in handling [ not necessarily a good thing ]
The 1.4 deg of neg camber on the front was not enough to combat it.
I have now fitted 15mm spacers to the front. [as startling as that may sound ! ]
The result is brilliant

I also installed 285's on 18x10 Gemballa competitions with 40 offset with no issues. Car has not been lowered. This did increase understeer and I compensated with 7mm spacers up front. With the wide rear end I don't hear that "cute car" comment anymore. Thank God!

Q, my wheels have arrived and a new quandry has popped up. Front tire size! The front wheels are 9.5 inches wide. With all my concerns with the rears being so large, I didn't even think about the fronts. Porsche 18" set up is 225/40 however a 225 won't fit my wheels properly. What size tires are you running up front? Do you know if 235/40s will fit?
By the way, I'm still drooling over your car...should you ever decide to just give it away to a good home, call me!

I think I know the answer but will the larger wheel and or 17mm spacers front and rear require a four wheel alignment. If so whats the best setting for mostly street freeway driving and an occasional burst over the mountains?

9.5" wide !!!!!
I am not sure they will fit !

I use 225/40's up front.

I have seen 235's - on an 8" rim fit nicely, but I have never seen a 9.5" rim up front.

LOL ..you aren't the first to say that

I have a reasonably agressive setup which has been used predominantly for street.
I have been suprised by the even wear of the tyres

FRONT
Toe in/ out 2
Camber L -1.6 Camber R -1.4
Caster L 7.8 Caster R 8

REAR
Toe in/ out 2
Camber L -2.3 Camber R -2.2

Just be aware, I have a RHD car, so L & R settings may be the reverse of a LHD car (particularly the camber settings)
