Boxster S Vs 993
#46
Il add my 2 cents. I live in Sacramento and it was 60 degrees outside when I got off work at midnight, starting Christmas eve. My offramp came up and I quickly turned out and said in my head"this is too much damn fun" and I kept on going. I only have a 99 Boxster,I wonder so what a Boxster S would be like. Now what you could do is venture into a early year Boxster 97-00 for low prices($15-25K)and see if you like that,if so then you know a newer S is the way to go. Now I do not know if you have ever felt this way about your 993 but all I know is that a Boxster is a damn fun car(no matter what year) as a daily driver car. There is a reason why it is on Car & Drivers Top 10 often.

My wife has an 03 Boxster and I a 95 993. Both are great cars. Today, we had a great drive in her car with the top down at dusk. Truly a fun car to drive.

it always impresses me how many people who have owned or driven Boxsters and now drive much more expensive cars seem to gush when talking about their Boxster experiences. Almost as if they were talking about a great girl that got away.
The one that impressed me most was a friend who earlier in life raced in junior formulas in South America (at one time against an Indy 500 winner) and "settled"(great car) on an S2000 but made it quiet clear that the BoxsterS was his first choice. Braking, handling, throttle response, even seating position were exactly right for him.

licking lips--My buddy is waiting for his CaymanS. I can;t wait! The guy has only driven BMW's, he's got no idea what he's in for.
but nothing looks like a 996 on BBS with full aero (even with kids in the back)
