Default 1999 Boxster engine conversion

Ok hope you can help with a father son project - goal is to get the boxster running with him then sell it - mom said "no he can't have a Boxster as his first car..." we shall see...

Have a 1999 boxster with a bad 2.5 (death rattle)
Have a 2000 2.7 with egas (yep I know the 1999 is cable)
Yes I know this is a waste and a 3.4 is a better swap - but we have a 2.7 so ...

Pulled the 2.5
installed the 2.7 with its DME
Did that as a full engine and gearbox swap - so will have a hurt engine with a good DME and gearbox to sell at the end...
I've read a bunch on making the conversion to cable and either using the 3.4 1999 cable Throttle Body of modding the 2.5 TB...

First question - if you do that how do you use the 2.7 harness and DME it has a single connector for the TB vs the 2 connectors on the 2.5 TB

Second question - think I'm going this way - since the egas is really a cable that spins a sensor can't you just add that sensor to the 1999 cable and wire into the 2.7 DME (I bought a new throttle pedal sensor on Ebay for $45...
Seems that would allow the engine to run with all 2.7 parts TB etc...

Am I missing something?
Appreciate any comments, ideas and help!

Interested to see if you guys can pull this off. Tried it a while back, and main issue was that intake manifold to inlet ports on the heads is slightly offset 2.5 vs. 2.7, so apart from e-gas throttle body (also has different diameter vs. cable throttle body, IIRC, you'll have quite a bit to contend with to make this fit.

All you need to do is put the center plenum from the 2.5 on the 2.7 intake with hose adapters for the different size. You will then need to modify the intake hose from the air filter housing to the throttle body. I did this by extending it on the air filter housing side. I did this on my dads 99 Boxster when I put a 2.7 in it that is bored to 2.9L.

Does the deck lid still fit after this?

Yes. The 3.4L intake is taller.

Im interested in your 2.5 engine and gearbox. Let me know what you want for them.

On a totally different subject, you might want to listen to your wife. Some consider the old Boxster cars as slow. Yet with a young first driver, I can see how even a 2.5 would be too much car. It's not the acceleration, it's the confidence and handling that inspire someone to go past the limits, limits that a beginner needs to learn in a different car. IMO, a Porsche cruises far too easily in triple digits to give to a kid.
