i'm looking for a tool kit for my '04 Boxster S - anybody have one laying around?

No, but why would you want one? Its just a plstic wheel hanger (aka lug bolt), & screwdriver. You can get better for vastly less anywhere. M14 bolt.

I realize the tools are not the greatest, but would like to have the tools it came with for the sake of originality.

Agree. The kit is much more than described. Tools fit into a casing that fits into the spare. You need the jack and other tools like head light tool. Try a parts place like dcAutomotive or any of several others that don't come to mind. AASE is another. Check ads in Pano or Excellence for parts recyclers.
Yes, you can use Craftsman or other tools, but they won't fit the tool holder. And won't be original.
