* Litronic headlights and Bose Premium sound
* 18" upgraded wheels
* new battery
* new brakes (rotors, pads, hardware)
* complete clutch (disc, flywheel, hardware)
* M030 Sport Suspension (European option - perfect for this car - soft around town, great for hard driving)
* leather/padded steering wheel
* shift **** (GT3 model in leather + silver)
* E-brake handle
* custom leather door armrests/handles, knee bolsters, console armrest/lid, sun visors (contrasting silver stitched using OEM Porsche leather)
* new windshield
* tires are brand new Michelin Super Sports (successor to the popular PS2) with less than 400 miles on them.
* new OEM thermostat
* new OEM spark plugs
* OEM fluids (brake/clutch, power steering, oil/filter, cabin filter, coolant)
* Oil+filter changed every 3 months regardless of mileage
* AC system recharged
* new floor mats

88,000 miles seemed like a lot when I was considering buying it, but it really looks and runs like new! Did I get a steal on it?
Not necessarily. I saw some in that mileage/price range. Most were rough, some were good. My 02 S I felt ok paying the higher price because of the low miles. Before taxes it was $18,500. Not terribly much more than yours with half the mileage. Just had the 30K done as well as a new RMS and clutch.

If this car really is a screaming deal more than likely its already sold. Dealers and flippers prey on good deals like these. The really good deals you cant hesitate to purchase because there is always someone else right behind you. FYI: There is a 01 S for sale near me for 12k and only has 55k miles and is a one owner (nice service history) and has been for sale since late August.

Very nice. They did the clutch but left the IMS as is?

please post pics of the custom leatherwork. I need to look into this.
I was thiking of going alcantara on the seat inserts, steering wheel and side pocket door and armrest..

p.s.
They now sell LED tail lights for the 986. Same look as you have now. I think they're about ~$150 on ebay. much brighter, handy at night on the highway.

I think you meant to say that RMS is a non-issue (not IMS).

Wow that's nice work. So these aren't factory parts? The steering wheel looks like its straight from the Porsche Tequipment catalog.

Default 2001 Porsche Boxster S for sale, $12,900

I have a 2001 Porsche Boxster S for sale for anyone interested. I take great care of it, and am only the second owner. I purchased it from a doctor who babied it and bought new cars every few years. It has worked flawlessly for me. Besides regular maintenance, I've just had to have the oil separator replaced twice. It has 104k miles on it and I am selling it for $12,900. PM me if interested.
