Any body know what the correct O2 sensors are for a 1999 boxster with a 1999 3.4l 996 motor? The ECU has softronic programming, fvd headers, sport cats and muffler. 3 of the sensors have a part number starting with 986 and the 4th has one starting with 993, which I am told is correct for the 996.
I am getting a code, (running rich), I think from the same side as the mixed sensors. I finally got under the car yesterday to check the sensors. Car was essentially a track car from previous owner. It seems to run fine and interestingly has never triggered CEL the three times I have had it on the track since owning it. Ususally it comes on with slow speed and local driving. (sorry didn't write down the exact code. I can scan it tomorrow and post it.)
I am thinking that they should all be 986 sensors since that is the ECU still in the car.
TIA

Buy Bosch for 99 Boxster, thats what the DME is looking for.
