Default 3.2L Chain Tensioners Torque Spec

I've been trying to list all my reassembly torque specs prior to starting my next project and can't for the life of me find a factory torque spec on the 32mm chain tensioner bolts for the 3.2L M96. I've cross referenced my Bentley manual, 101 Projects book from pelicanparts, Wayne's online tech articles also at pelicanparts.com, previous forum posts, and exhausted the search button. Perhaps my eyes glazed over last night as it was the last thing I looked for before bed, but could anyone with previous experience or better manual please chime in? I wont be suprized if I just missed it in my Bentley manual, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

59 ft-lb

it's critical that you put them in the correct spots; they are all different. each has an oil passage that aligns with the case. if you mix them up, they won't pump up w/ pressure & you will jump time.

Thanks! I figured as much regarding correct tensioner placement since each of the 3 had a different part number. One for each chain/guide for the same reason you stated. I'll be marking and storing them separately while they are out to avoid mix-up. Pelican sells 3 (one for bank 1-3, one for bank 4-6, and one for IMS chain).

Do you by chance know the manual that the 59 ft-lb came from? I still want to believe just missed it in the Bentley book.

Thanks,

The Tensioners have 1,2 or zero rings on the hex part to match simular rings on the case to match the correct installation location. Make sure you fill the tensioner with clean oil before installation by pumping up like a lifter. I don't recall the Bentley manual mentioning tensioners.

Found it after work. 59 ft-lb is absolutely correct.

Also, I see what you mean Byprodriver. Admin: let me know if I need to take this diagram down.

A: Bank 4-6
B: Crank Case
C: Bank 1-3

Thanks guys!
