Here we are a week or so later and not much progress. Still taking the old harness out. All that's left to do is drop the fuel tank and remove the heater A/C unit under the dash then everythig will be free to get the rest of the harness out. In the meantime I switched back to the engine install. Realized I got the hole wrong for the fronT mount so had to redo it and get it in the right place. Since then I decided I want to drop the motor down another 1/4 " for other clearance issues so spacer for the front mount and repostion the back mounts. Don't know how far I will get with it since I got another job. 01 Boxster that needs water pump, some exhaust mods, softronic tune, light flywheel and clutch plus suspension work (over 100k on the car) still going strong.
THIS IS THE REAR TRANS MOUNT BEING REPOSITION BY 1/4" (NOT DONE)
THIS IS THE REAR MOUNT CLOSER TO DONE (will post picture when I'm done)
THIS IS THE FRONT ENGINE MOUNT REWELDED BEFORE I REDRILLED HOLE
NEW IPD INTAKE PLANUM - THINKING ABOUT POWDER COATING IT RED - WHAT DO YOU THINK ?
THIS IS A MOKUP OF THE INTAKE TUBE THAT WILL HOLD THE THROTTLE BODY

Harry's been busy with mine and other projects therefore his crazy project has been slow to advance.
I must say thank you again for the help Harry has given me getting my race car back up and running after a wreck at Road Atlanta.
Thanks Harry

I'm about to undertake a similar project to swap a 2009 3.8L DFI engine into a 2007 Cayman S. Not sure if you've finished your project, but a couple questions:
1) I see that you were able for physically fit the older trans to the revise bolt pattern, but on the newer cars the crankshaft position sensor is on the trans bell housing. So how did you deal with that?
2) Were able to fit the Boxster/Cayman style oil filter housing to the 911 block. They are meant to interchange, but the ports to the block aren't exact. Did you have to do some machining?

Couple years in the future - has anyone successfully completed one of these swaps?
