Default radio lock code

Ok...where to go.

Have purchased a Boxter radio for my 993 and guess some of you guyes have an idea of how to get the code input working. (meaning...I have the code but it seems not to receive it). On my original 993 Becker it display "Code" and list the digit for each lower row of channel buttons. On the Boxter radio it does not show these digits! maybe thats a hint

The radio is from 2003.

(Bought the radio from eBay, no code enclosed. Did a internett re-code services).

Anyone with a tip ?

If you have a Porsche dealer handy they can get it for you. They've done it for me for free.

Chuck
Yeah.. guess that will be the safest way to solution.
Bought this radio as a part of the stereo upgrade of my 993. Did not dare to take the risk of going for anything else than Becker. Must look close to original...and by the end shall the speakerupgrades bring the sound to a quality level that was not ment for this 993. (I know...the engine sound it was it takes...but ...)

Many Porsche dealers write the code on the option sticker in the front trunk. There is also a space for the code in the radio owners manual. Ask the seller if he can check both locations.

What unit is it? If it's a CDR-220 it should give you the "CODE" prompt as you said, but if it is the later CDR-23(0) there is no code required. I think the CDR-23 also used the fiber optic "MOST" connections so you'll need to verify what is needed to install in a 993.

If from 2003, then it is a MOST fiber optic bus version so you aren't gonna want to try replicating that setup into your car.

As Mike said, the 2003 is coded specifically to the car it was in, I do not think it is compatible with a 993.

Sorry, that one will not work. You want a CDR 220.

OK.

This is the result.

The CDR23 is possible to install in a 993...but....
Model version is critical. If you have the BE6611...they can modify it at www.SWstereo.com
I, unfortunally have the Model # 6612 and have it for sale send me a PM. Nice price

Price was mention, you may consider 125$ for this upgrade.
