How much more power are you looking at? I have been thinking about the same for my 996

Does anyone know what the expected HP and torque increase is for the LN 3.6? I could not find any dyno sheets on their web site.

about 40 ftlbs. torque coming in at a lower/longer rpm range than stock & with all other componets being stock. I believe headers will add another 10.
L&N doesn't build engines but their developement partner: flat6innovations.com does & has more info on power expectations & costs.

I noticed a shop manual in the background in one of the photos, what manual and other resources are you using?

May I ask how much engine building experience you had prior to taking on this project? I am shopping for an old boxster and in preparation for buying one I might actually be able to afford, I have been doing as much study of the M96 engine as I can without actually buying the manuals. The assumption being I won’t be able to afford anything with an engine that will last much longer, or that even runs. This research has got me itching to try rebuilding a M96. The last engine I built from the ground up was a Chevy small block and that was almost 30 years ago, but I still want to give this a shot. How was Jake Raby's class? I have looked into it and exchanged a few emails with him. I want to take the class now and I don’t even own a M96! Thanks

I have rebuilt many musclecar engines from Chevy, Pontiac & Ford but nothing newer than 1994 5.0 when I worked at Saleen. Jake Raby's class was very helpful.
I must warn you though to rebuild 1 engine considering the special tools you need, the cost of the parts, & the hours required, it may be cheaper to send to Flat6innovations.
