Default GT3 RS Wing on 986 Boxster?

I know this may sound crazy, but I am wondering if it would be possible to mount a GT3 RS wing with the carbon blade on a 986 Boxster? I know there would definitely need to be some fabrication or custom brackets involved. How heavy is the wing? How far apart are the standoffs on the typical 996 decklid? I am wondering if I can A.) Use both the OEM standoffs and blade and make a custom way of attaching it to the rear spoiler, depending on weight and size restrictions, or B.) Use the OEM blade itself and make custom standoffs off the existing spoiler.

Anything is possible when you open you wallet

As far as the wing. I weighed the CF RS wing on my GT3 and it was 7 pounds.

i believe the list price is $7,600 for the 997 GT3 RS wing...

Sunset, Suncoast Porsche nice price, $5,400.

aftermarket very close to oem quality, $3,298. seems they've done a beautiful job with this...

Why do you want to put a big wing on a car that has very little power and great balance?

The wing in the link posted by eclou looks cool but it looks like the base plate has to be glued or bolted to your stock lid. It's not like adding a wing to a 964 or 993 lid be removing retractable wing. In any case if I guessed it right, it sucks. The wing on the cayman is huge but the rest of the car goes with it. And the wing vivid sells is actually a Mike Shaw creation so why not buy directly from him.

I think you are in need of a Techart Wing.
Looks like a GT3/GT2 wing and probably fits the Boxster (almost)

Reminds me of a slogan I once saw on a tee shirt....'Silly ricer, useless wings are for penguins'.

Just sayin.

SO MUCH NEGATIVETY, REALLY ?!!! Haven't you ever heard that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Yes I am putting a big wing on mine. (although for you negative people I do have the horepower to back it up 420) but that's not the point. If mile2424 likes it, leave him be.
Mile2424 don't listen to these putts, go for it.

Don't take offense to the comments. It is just their opinion. I think if you add a rear wing you also need to increase the front downforce as well. The car should be ballanced aerodynamically--at least for the track. If you are doing it for looks then it really doesn't matter.
I would think adding the wing at the rear would pose a mounting problem. It might get expensive to make it look right. It would probably be better to see if some aftermarket manufacturer makes it so the mating would be easier. I assume the Caymans that run in the race series would have some sort of solution for you

It's ugly. He needs to be told before he does something rash he later regrets. It is an act of mercy to point out to someone, here in a safe place among friends, that what he is considering is a horrible breach of good taste, an offense against all standards of excellence both aesthetic and engineering, and a likely cause for ridicule from all who see him.

Hope that helps!
