Default Climate control F to C reading

Folks, have a 2002 Boxster S US model. I found it easy to convert the spedo to metric but cannot find a way to convert the Climate control to change from F to C. Is there a way to do it without the dealer being involved?

Not that I know of. I couldn't find it either. I don't think you could do that easily without switching the entire gauge cluster to Canadian version.

Hold down the recirculating button then push BOTH the temperature (+ -) buttons.

Now that I got to try. Thanks for the tip.

What about the outside air temperature reading in Celsius?

I tried that and it did not work. I know with the MY2000 you can change it by pressing the recirculating butto and + to change it. It does not seem to work on my 2002.

Thanks anyways, I see it will help others ...

Darn, sorry Jaak. Maybe it's a MOST v. non-MOST issue? I'm not sure as I never tried to change it in my 04 but I did in my 00 and it worked fine. Hopefully somebody can add to this as I am sure there are others interested as well.

Dai.....sorry but that's cluster specific. To move from F to C or the other way around you actually need to replace the cluster.

That's what I thought also about the cluster specific for outside air temp. reading.

You have to go to a dealer or somebody that have a PIWIS or PST2 Porsche Computer and ask them to change Country in your DME from USA to Canada. That will put your A/C readout in Celcius. Hope it helps.

Yeah ours sucks double. We can change the PCM display to Celsius and KM, but the dash stays in standard MPH and F. Weird seeing both numbers together, but they act as separate systems.

I don't think you can assuming you don't have OBC. (using the 4th stalk).
There is a "hack" for it but I still believe you need to get it turned on.

I suggest you check over on renntech.org and do a search. It's been discussed numerous times. I've never paid a whole lot attention to it because I have OBC.
