Another new 986 owner
I picked up a '98 last week for an incredible price. The car isn't perfect, but I wasn't expecting perfection. I'll keep updating this thread as I take care of its issues.
This is Porsche #6 for me. I've owned a '92 968 cabrio, an '86 944, an '84 944, an '87 Carrera cabrio, and a '75 911 Targa. I sold my last Porsche back in '02, so it's been a while. It's good to be back.

How much did u pay? I just got a 98 with 46k miles for $10k. Not perfect either, needs a new boot around the shifter and other misc things but it was just repainted 3 months ago so it looks a lot newer than a 98. Can't wait to take deilvery

I can drop a little cash in it and have a fairly unique, fun car. I'm going to drop a windshield in it and replace the top next week if I can find the time, and then I'm going to concerntrate on picking up a set of 18 inch wheels. Might get 19's if I can find a set that I like.
Tonight I'm going to read the owner's manual. Maybe it will clear up some of the mysteries - like why the windows roll down all the way sometimes when I'm lowering the top, and other times they don't.

The owner was a kid, and he only wanted $18K. I probably would have bought that car if it hadn't been 350 miles away. Also looked at a local '06 Boxster S with 14K miles for $23,500.
Rebuilt title on that one, though.
