Default Airbag light is on

I have a 01 Boxster S and I replaced the alternator and now the Airbag light is on. Anyone have some ideas on what I could check?

There is a sensor wtIh seat belt that IS probably bad causing light to be on. Is about a $250 fix at porsche dealer. Fairly common according to dealer. Hope this helps.

You need to take the car to a Porsche shop and have them check the airbag code. Normally there is a fault for one side seat belt buckle. The shop will replace the buckle and replace pins in the body harness for the buckle. It is recommended to update both sides and if it is a repeating problem there is an updated airbag control unit.

I just want to reply to everyone that the answer to my problem was that I had turned on the ignition with my seat removed. This showed an error to the airbag computer and turned on the light. The only way to get this error removed is bring to the dealer. The dealer was going to charge me $120 but knocked to down to $65. Thanks flintworks for the post.
