Default Boxster S '04 to '07 improvements ??

Can someone direct me to a site or tell me the improvements in the Boxster S from 2004 to 2007?

I'm interested in finding/driving/buying one, but I'd like to know what to expect. I have a997 C4S now ... and, I've been a very long time 911 driver. But, I gotta get rid of at least one car. I need room in the garage for the SO's '08 CLS550 ... which is a nice car, btw.

So, can some one help me with the changes to the model year versions of the Box S from '04 - '07. Or, where I can find this info.

Thanx. I appreciate it.

Ask away at ppbb.com

There you will also find a link to Mike Focke's website. He keeps a running list of year to year changes.

you really have to drive them both to appreciate the differences, but it's like going from a 996 to a 997, from the outside they may not look that different

stiffer chassis, better insulated cabin so road noise isn't as bad with the top up, new interior, better shifting, slightly more power, seating position is changed so there's more headroom, really, you have to drive it to appreciate the subtle changes but there are many

Thanx, I knew someone would have a site with this information. I was trying to search by MY for each iteration of the Boxster. This will be better.

986 - 1997-2004
987 - 2005-present

They are the same.. only different. If you like the 997 in your sig,the 987 Boxster will seem very similar. The 986 Boxster will look very different, especially in the interior.

2004 Boxster S had about 260hp.. The 2005+ Boxster S has 280+hp. As with most porshe models, search out the newest one that you can afford.

I have driven several Boxster S's from 2005 - 2006. I was very surprised at how the car handled, shifted, and it's manners in town, twisties and Super Slab were very nice.

Long story short ... I've placed a deposit on a 2005 Boxster S, Basalt Black, black top, with natural full leather interior. Interesting combo IMO. I prefer black interiors, but this seems to work for me.

Car has Bi-Xenon pkg, Bose/Windstop, Heated seats, 19" Carrera S wheels, Colored wheel crests, PASM, Sport seats w/full leather interior, Sport steering wheel, yada, yada. And, like 21K miles ... one owner, Porsche certified car, too. Local car.

I'm offing my 2002 BMW Z3 and the difference is exactly what I wanted. I've yet to drive this Boxster, but will do so Montag afternoon. If it is what I think it is .... and it should be, I'll have it in my garage this Friday.

I think I'll have a clear 3M bra (or some such) done before I take delivery, and have a Valentine 1 hardwired, too.

Anything someone would like me to look for/at when I see the car would be helpful. Anything else to consider? Thanx in advance.
