Is Boxster RS60 Syder Really Gay
#31
OK -- I can see where you're coming from... I purchased a 2000 986S in 2006, arctic silver with boxster red interior, from a friend's brother in California (I live in Canada). I did a crazy thing and bought the car sight unseen... trusting the seller that he indeed did the PPI for me with a reputable dealer, etc. I think I'm digressing.
Anyway, I was quite nervous about the red interior -- he took a ton of pictures, and my friend had seen/driven the car many times, and everyone assured me it wasn't TOO red.
Now after 18 months, I regard all other interiors (black, grey et al) to be too bland. Nuts, eh?
The red top really stands out. My only concern is -- u gotta keep it clean
Enjoy the car, she's a beauty.

Yes it looks gay....just like every Boxster.....
If any of your friends say your ride is gay just ask them how many times a chick has stepped in their car compared to your Boxster.....enough said.
Enjoy the heck out it!

There were several parked in front of the Porscheplatz at Sebring. I think the red leather is stunning in person. And I was surprised at the sound of the sport exhaust. Lots of low frequency at idle.

Boxster Color Combinations
I just bot a 2006 Boxster S, Guards Red (arrest me Red!!) with a tan interior and I love the combination. It has about 4,500 miles on it and it is a Tiptronic (so the wife can drive it!). Frankly, I think the color combo on the RS60 is beautiflul. The red top does set it apart from other Silver Boxsters.... so just enjoy it!

It's definitely gay. And I'll buy it for only 10K less than you paid.
But seriously I'm a 911 owner and am hoping to buy another 911 as a daily driver later this Summer. I saw the very same car in the showroom two weeks ago and thought it was stunning.
My only gripe about Boxsters or Caymans is they need the five gauge pack as an option...and the fact that Porsche deliberately gives them less HP of course.

Drove the Boxster some this weekend and it is so much fun on the street. one of the reasons is the lack of horse power. The RS beaks laws very quick and the Boxster is just plain fun. 911 owners should drive one and then decide.

Please don't take this the wrong way but...who the f@#k cares what others think. You obviously like the car, and as we all know Boxster's are one of the all time great driver's cars as well as being a beautiful car. Over the years I've also owned 4 Miata's. I work in one of the most macho enviornment's possible and over the years I have had to deal with comments from some of the uneducated and envious. With my Miata's I got all the typical comments about driving a chick car. If I wanted to really shut the person up I would tell them to pick whatever car they wanted and to join me, and my chick car, at Thunderhill Raceway Park for a day of leisure. No surprise none of these "macho" dudes ever put there money where there mouth was.
With the 987S, I've heard nothing but "hey if you want to trade cars for the weekend..." None of these "macho" guys seem to have a problem being seen in my 987S. Bottom line, enjoy the fact you can afford and indulge in such a wonderful car. As for those making silly, stupid, and moronic comments just remember it is you driving the Porsche not them.

So true. This why the Boxster is the most fun per dollar spent. Plus, my base Boxster sounds so frickin cool. My C2S offered a couple seconds of fun, followed by law enforcement anxiety. The GT3 must be just cruel if you don't track it.
