They're all fun. What you're buying is the handling from the mid-engine layout. There are not huge differences over the years, but if a 2000 S is in your range, you might consider that as partly increasing the fun factor.

The S2000 is a great car for the track, but IMO it doesn't compete with the Boxster on the street.

I meant 2000 Boxster S (for the 3.2L), not S2000. Cheers...

We had a 97 , and it was a blast. We sold it when my wife had our son. She just could not see keeping it since she had to drive the "Mom mobile" .She misses it!!!!
Prices have come down to the point that I may buy her one as a push present(she's preggy again). Then we have to figure out a time for her to go put it through its paces. She'll need that Big Time!!!
