Default Boxster S - 2001 - Dyno run

I had the Boxster on a dyno over the weekend. I looked around and didn't really see any posts on RWHP dyno sheets and figured I'd post mine.

Only mod: I pulled the snorkel out a couple days before the dyno run.

HP 221 Torque 193 ft. lbs.

Dyno guy figured 12-15% loss from the flywheel works out to 250-260 crank HP. Just about right, I'd say.

Here's the sheet.

I'll post up again after each modification I do.

So fom the chart can we say that anything above about 6400 RPMs is just noise? And torque and HP cross at about 5300 RPMs? Can not really read the chart very well, but is that what your showing? Thanks

Max HP is at 6400 RPM, torque at 5000, but stays level until about 6500 RPM, woth a slow drop off to the rev limiter at 7300 +- 100 RPM.

With a flat torque curve from about 3K to 6.5K RPM.

Would I shift at 6500 RPM for maximum performance? Nope, I'd go to 7000 approx before shifting, you're not losing much HP thre, and you gain a shift up into the best part of the power curve with a higher RPM shift into the next gear.

I've attached a pdf of the same file, don't know if that helps, might be a little easier to read.

I'm going to add cold air intake and a chip next, and see what we get.

Then maybe exhaust, single cat and headers after that. One step at a time.

Torque = HP @ 5252 RPM for any motor, it's a math thing. torque*RPM/5252=HP

FWIW here's the printout from my 3.4 that has a cold air, headers and sport cats. Using the same loss rate I think I get 302 HP which is only 7 over stock with all the mods.

Your HP @ the crank would be about 286 not 302hp. It looks like the car uses about 30hp to move all of the rotating mass down to the tires. The amount it takes to turn all of that stuff won't go up it'll always be the same.

Nice numbers.
