Default Changing the locks

MY car key does not work manually on the door lock (I found this out when the battery of the remote went dead and I tried opening the car manually). After some research, these are the options I have:

1- Go to the dealer and ask them to re-order the door lock cylinder according to my Key's specs. Wait for 3 weeks and pay thru the nose

2- Buy a used ignition, door lock set (with keys) from a dismantler and replace the entire thing in my car.

My question is how difficult is it to replace the locks? Is it advisable to do that?
and finally is there a DIY guide to do it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Regards,
Aman

the key fits in the door lock but will not turn...as a result the door lock does not open manually. It opens from the inside (from the center console button) so I guess the problem is with the lock cylinder....

If you replace all that will the keyless still work? Or will you have to replace the transmitters as well?
