98 Boxster -

I get reception but only pulls in the strongest stations.

Any common things to look for?

Would XM Radio help? Antenna placement?

 

I just installed XM in my 98, and it works fine. Like you i was tired of the poor reception from my OEM radio. I managed to find a really nice Pioneer with XM capability. I mounted the antenna on the dash, right in front of the passenger A pillar. it works fine. in addition, the new unit get's far better reception on FM, but I still get very little AM. the whole thing cost me $300.00 installed.
