the goal is to break the system's security. it's an accomplishment for those guys to hack a site. it's a challenge for them. when they succeed, they tell all their hacker buddies to go see their handiwork. it gives them 'street cred'.

Because the owner is an asshat and has pissed a lot of people off. It's no surprise that somebody finally took it to his doorstep.

I sure wasn't me, but I laughed when I saw the splash page lol.
