I just did mine a month ago, I can't recall if it was 9 or 10mm but it definitely is standard metric. You may well have a problem
Let us know what you find
Cheers

Well after trying to fight with the clutch bleeder nipple I found out why I was never able to grip it well....it had been stripped. I guess the dealership must have done it,that's last time anyone touched the clutch bleeder nipple. I guess that's what happens when Porsche uses a plastic part where there should be metal! F.Y.I. it was 9mm on my 99' 5-spd. Looks like I will have to perform brake fluid changes bi-annually to make up inability to change the clutch bleeder fluid. Oh well, live and learn.
Thanks! I have a new OEM clutch slave cylinder on the way, only $49.90 shipped. By the way it's an Audi part, DON'T BUY IT FROM PORSCHE! All the shops I called, even Sunset wanted $75+. Search around on the internet for Audi part # 8E0721257F. There are two different types of slave cyclinder as far as how they connect to the hydraulic line, one is a screw type and the other is a push pin,the part # I provided is for the new push pin connection. I think I will take pics and write-up a D.I.Y. for everyone else.
