Post Bose stereo

Our '03 Boxster came with the Bose rear speaker enclosure. The base is VERY boomy. There doesn't seem to be any way to dial it down. The base adjustment just seems to effect mid-bass, not the Bose bass. Has anyone else experienced this and figured out how to adjust it. None of the controls on the face plate seem to effect it, I've tried them all. I would think there would be some adjustment on the amp.

Hmm... I have '03 with Bose, and I did not find it boomy until I had bass up around +9 and volume at top down/highway speed levels. I'm usually at +7 or +8... treble at +1. What is your bass setting at?

The bass setting doesn't seem to have much effect on the sub-bass in relation to the rest of the music. I've tried less bass, changing the fader, it's still back there thumping away.
