Boxster S spin out...no warning
#46
I am 96 hours into a 2001 Boxster S.
I spun it last night.
Very "moving" (re: humbling) experience.
I was running around a never completed industrial/commercial complex (no buildings, decent streets). I did a corner, fast right hander, and, not fully knowing my car, allowed the rev-limiter to slice in at the apex.
Very bad area to loose RPM/power/traction/my shorts.
I'm a fifty year old, autocrossing since 1968 but not in a mid egine car since smuggling my sister's 914 to a meet at Cal Sate Long Beach in '72. Never in a new ABS/computer chip/rev-limiting vehicle.
Lesson learned: Soak up the vehicle ("put it on") before pushing it.
