Clearly new Porsches are not satisfying you. 10 Porsches in 7 years! You obviously need to try something different. Perhaps an older one, like say a '73 - I've had mine for 18 years.

keeping a car longer than 12 months is akin to drinking pesticides every morning, right? GT3nut?

my cayman is on moton cs, RA1's.
good: properly set up, the turn in is better than 911's including GT3, very neutral, very intuitive. fast enough, short of x51 and GTx car's, you can keep up with 993 996 997 no prob, if not passing them.
the ugly: pwr steering pump dies. if you track it hard and didn't kill your pwer steering in 6-10 months, you are either too slow or didn't track enough (you can fix this prob with mantis racing's underdrive pulley)
lack of aftermarket support not many ppl really know this car well. again mantis racing is good wiht this chassis as is F. Loles.
need LSD for sure, but you will learn to drive around this shortcoming.
track worthiness: as good as dual purpose car will get. not as durable or as fast as GT3, but much cheaper to buy and to run.

Thanks mooty. That is what I was looking for. I plan to track my new to me Boxster for a couple of seasons then move to a fully track preped 911 but, I have considered a preped Cayman for their nutrality and running cost advantages (perceived anyway). I will decide based on how deep the addiction runs.

consumables of a boxster s or cayman s is about 40% of the cost of a GT3. i dont know how it compars to 996 or lighter wt 911's.
you can buy boxster s rotors from http://e-partssales.com/Merchant2/me...tegory_Code=PO
i haven't found anything cheaper
if you buy pagid by the bulk, call austin at racer's group.
watch your power steering fluid like a hawk, that's the weakest link on that car.
wheel bearings up front dont last long if you push it hard. chk often, my last about 1 season (30 or so days)
