Default Need advice

I am currently considering purchasing an 06 Boxster S, Basalt Black with black interior with the Preferred Package. A dealership down in Dallas, TX has given me a price of invoice minus 5%, so the car would be about $47500. I am considering buying the car as a second vehicle, so I would be driving it mostly on the weekends. The Boxster S would be my first Porsche and I need some advice on the price, does anybody have any other price data to provide on 06 models. Thanks beforehand for the input, it will me much appreciated.

The key to seperating your Boxster from the rest of the pack are the options, what options does it have?

The Boxster S has the Preffered Package which comes with Bose, self-dim mirros and rain sensor, heated front seats, wheel caps with Colored Crests. I am buying this car as a pure sports car, I do not want a lot of options.

There are alot of '06 Boxsters on the market and the '07's come with a bigger engine and therfore are more desireable.
I would bargain HARD. I have seen advertised 10% off MSRP in the papers and have heard of 14% off so you can save some serious coin if you want to..
Good Luck !

If it is truly "invoice" minus 5%, and I would ask to see the invoice, then it would be a good deal if it has the options you want. If not then shop around for an 07 that is equipped as you like it or do a factory order. We are halfway through the model year and Boxster sales are down. Should be possible to snag one at 7%-10% for an 07. Good luck.
