Default Boxster vs Boxster S Owner's Manual

Just curious -- I have a 2000 Boxster S (bought it used), from California and imported to Canada. Anyway, it came with a "Boxster" owner's manual, but it didn't differentiate between the S and non-S. Not that there's any difference operationally.

Is there in fact, a different manual for the S's?

Does not the front cover say it is for a Boxster and Boxster S?

Oh dear... I don't remember see an "S" anywhere on the front cover but I'll check tonight when I get home. I hope I didn't miss something as silly as that...

Let us know. Since you have a used car....

The first page has a part number. It starts with WKD 986 021 and then 2 more numbers. 99 for a 1999 as an example. 00 for a 2000.

The picture on the front cover changed for 2000 when the Boxster S came out. 1997-1999 were just Boxster with a different picture.

Well this is strange... This is the number found on the first page:

WKD 986 021 99

But it's a 2000 Boxster S... and I bought it from a friend's brother, who was the only owner. Weird, eh?

You have a 1999 owners manual, for whatever reason, and that is why it just has Boxster on the cover. Boxster S did not exist in 1999.

T'is true -- but I don't understand why the heck the previous owner had a 1999 Boxster manual... he owned a 1997 Boxster before he bought the S in 2000, so it doesn't quite make sense.

I'll have to email him...
