Question about Rear Spoiler
Has anyone moved the control switch for the rear spoiler up to the dash from the kick panel? It seems really weird to me that Porsche would put it there instead of the center console. And considering that I have at least 3 available places to put it, I was wondering if it's possible to move it, and if there is a wiring kit and switch to make it easier.
Any help is appreciated in advance.
Thanks

Should be easy to do - hardest part is getting the wiring from the current switch to the new location.
The hard part would be to get a new switch to fit in the panel.
I would order another switch (like another PSM switch) then scrub off the "PSM" lettering and hook her up!!!
I think the switch is low because the rear air-foil is regulated already by the car - I think the switch is so we can clean that area when needed (or to explain to law officers that we raised the wing/air foil ourselves and that we were not exceeding the speed limit where the air-foil deploys on it's own)...

Actually, I found a switch made for the spoiler. Costs about $20, I just need to move the wiring. shouldn't be that hard, but I haven't gotten under the dash to look at it yet.

There is a guy selling the relocation kits on EBAY. It is also a do-it-yourself with minor wiring if you do a thread search. It has been mentioned quite a bit. If you are not to electrically talented and cannot make a two wire harness your self the one on EBAY looks very easy with good install instructions. Do the search for the spoiler switch (it is standard on the dash in Turbo 996's) and see if it something you can do to save some money before buying the one on EBAY.

Ok here is the one I was talking about. Different guy than the last one I put up. I put the other one(the flashing control) on my car and I did the DIY for the dash switch. But I had considered this one first.

Sorry, I'd classify other things as fun! Actually, I prefer the looks of the car with it down.

I only manually raise it when cleaning the car. However I could see if you track the car it would be more convenient to raise-it from the dash so it is not constantly going up and down.

carbonfiber, it appears that the switch you installed is only an illuminating "switch" that shows whether the spoiler is going up or down (flashing) or in the up position (light on). The other switch that your link pointed to is required to control the raising and lowering of the spoiler to the dash in addition to the switch on the fuse cover.

Yes I have not done that part of the install yet. I ran out of time and am working on everyone else's cars lately. I hope to get to it next week and will also be installing the PSE switch while I am in there. So many mods and too little time to do them. I need to leave time to drive the car.
