Since I have to replace my bumper cover anyways, is there some sort of swap I can do for a european look and lose those bumperettes? Or is that too much trouble?

No they do not. However, if you remove yours there will be two ugly holes there. You will need a euro bumper cover to complete the transformation.

I took them off to look, there are some mounting brackets. Do those come off of the bumper so that if I get the european cover it will fit? I have no problem buying the european cover, but not sure where I would get it, or does anybody have a model number? Would the 03+ one work on my 02?

The brackets are rivited on so you need to remove them.

With the replacement cover you tell the body shop not to cut the 2 holes for the brackets.
