Default Desnorkling

I have read the online instructions on how to desnorkle the 986. Before I do it, I was wondering if anyone here has done it and what you think?

Does the car sound better?
Any more power?
Any drawbacks?
Thanks Guys.

I did it about 6 months ago. I don't think there is any power increase, but the sound is a definite improvement. I absolutley love the way it sounds at WOT once the engine gets above 4k RPM.

I don't know of any drawbacks, other than its noiser (but that's the point)

They call it "de-snorkle" because the "snorkel", like the ones used when swimming, keeps water out of the lungs/intake. The only drawback is your intake is closer to where water comes into the engine compartment so your chances of sucking in some water increases. It's usually not a problem when done properly, but especially make sure you don't add a tube to the intake to be even with the angle of the scoop behind the door.
