Question Wheel tire combination Boxster S

I am tyring to find out what are the widest tires I can run on the Porshe/BBS 18S with or without spacers. Also if rims are needed what would be the widest tire combination and rim size recommended. Lastly, who makes the strongest lightest "good looking " rims? I dont want to go to the tire shop and have to do a dozen changes only to find out they wont work. This is for an O1 S. Thanks

Does this work? 8.5 x 18 = 17 lb, 10.5 x 18 = 19 lb (actual weights)

The rears are 285-30 Dunlop SSR's, but they measure out at a 295 width. You can't put anything wider under the fenders, trust me I know. Ask anyone here. The fronts are 245-35.

Did you use wheel spacers? Are the off sets stock?

I don't use spacers, but there is very little clearance between the rear tire/wheel rim and the coilover nut (or shock tower tube when I had the stock suspension) and the tire barely rubs at full compression on my rolled fender lips. The front tire grazes the plastic wheel well front cover at full lock, otherwise there is adequate clearance to the suspension and fender lips. Unless you do custom body work (fender flares or the such) these tire widths (effectively 295 and 255) are as large as you can fit on a 986. The rear wheel offset is 40mm and the front is 50mm. If I put a different tire brand on these wheels I think I would gain a bit more clearance all around.
