Default RPMs Jumpy at idle

I have a 98 Boxster and I have noticed that the rpms bounce down and back up at idle and I am pretty sure its the AC and its very annoying to be sitting at a stop light and hear the engine almost die. Does anyone out there know how to fix such a problem. thanks

The MAF might be going bad. Check engine light might be coming soon.

What is a MAF? Is it like an O2 sensor or something cause I know the O2 sensor is fine.

There was a DME remap for this for the non egas cars. It was to keep the car from stalling at idle with the a/c on.

I had a similar problem. Only difference was my ECU was remapped and I have an EVO intake. I tried a number of things and only after replacing the mass air flow sensor the problem went away.
