Default The Christmas Boxster

My 2000 Porsche Boxster S was just delivered on Christmas Eve (4 days early) by a gentleman that looks like Santa himself

I just had to share!

Congrats! Nice car, and yeah that's Santa in disguise! Notice his red suit under his fleece?

Congrats nice car!

Most of us are afraid to operate the top below 50 degrees!

Hmm, what are you afraid of, cracking the plastic window? I do it all the time into the 30s no problem.

Doesn't the owners manual state the same? Could be a warranty issue?

Paul, the owners manual says don't operate the top below 0 degrees C. But thanks for starting this conversation because I was going to really defy mother nature this year by seeing how low I could tolerate. Think I'll scratch those plans now... forgot about that caveat in the manual. But I do find top down in the winter to be invigorating. It's really not as bad as one may think. Heck, we ski.

I know what you mean, but in WI the problem is not only the cold, but the cross winds. I like having the top down too, but I can't take it when it's below 50 degrees and the winds are 20 to 30 mph.

Last year I took my top down under 60 degrees weather and it cracked. Never will do that again

At least the new window looks great

HBacura... did you have a habit of putting the top straight down without first tucking in the plastic when it is one-third of the way down? If you don't do this I can see it cracking in no time. Also, in cold weather I heat the cabin before dropping the top.

That's what's nice when you have a glass window vice the plastic...
