John, what can I say, some of us are deprived. Although there is something elemental and natural about having a ragtop with plastic window as opposed to the Benzes with their hardtop convertibles. Somehow they're a crime against nature.

If Porsche ever builds a mid-engine folding hardtop, it'll be the last car I will ever own.

If they did, I believe it wouldn't look as good. Getting the ragtop to work with the mid-engine took a lot of effort and they nailed it. A hard drop top would turn it into Quasimoto. The Boxster styling design is incredible, only to be outdone by its spatial and performance design which, if you compare it to other roadsters, is the eighth wonder of the world.
